Howdy!

Have you missed me?  Well, I've been busy getting ready for our SEPTEMBER TO REMEMBER event which is coming up on Sept 18th!!  I haven't had much time to stamp.  But I promise I will come back and either upload something from the recent swaps that I hosted and participated in or ... I will stamp something later to share today!

Just a little shout out to my Mom -- Happy Birthday to You!  Wish I could have flown home to spend the day with you!  Instead we bought Nicole a car ... so we kind of did some shopping on your birthday!  Lots of Love Mom!  ... picture coming soon!

For now, what have I been busy doing?  Working with a whole lotta numbers ... Ever wonder what it takes to put on a large group event?  Crunching numbers to stay within budget, to order just enough without much excess or being too short of something, ... well this is my "job" to make it all work out mathematically!

Some Silly Statistics for you!  Sure to either make you smile or roll your eyes...

Ribbon ...  726 pcs cut just to the right size

Card stock ... 716 sheets of card stock cut into 5,016 pieces for their projects

Punched Images ... 1,122 (at least) hand punched images from just card stock alone

Sizzix Die Cut Images ... 1,122 cuts hand cranked through the Big Shot

Textured Impressions Folder ... 1,056 (at least) pieces hand cranked through the Big Shot

Designer Series Paper ... over 2,112 pieces of paper cut and embossed for you

Cello Bags ... almost a thousand of them!

And I cannot even count the number of times we have counted and recounted piles and piles ...  :-)  We have had a few laughs and some PIMP moments too!  Working with Diana and Marlene is always a joy as they are two of my very best stamping friends & friends for life too!

I cannot wait to show you pictures of what we are making!  I will definitely have a weeks worth of posts ready to go - AFTER the event!  So stay tuned!  And if you'd like to join us for our next event, it is on Feb 19th, 2011!

Paisley Prints, oh please...

Hello again!

Aren't you shocked, a few days in a row now, what's up with that!  Well I am actually trying to make my blog more active and hopefully you will be inspired and keep coming back! 

As the title of today states, "Paisley Prints, oh please..." ... well that is exactly what I thought when I saw that we were receiving this stamp set at convention along with it's coordinating Stampin Around wheel.  Well at first we couldn't figure out where the set was, because it wasn't in the new catalog... so we had to wait until the preview period for the Holiday Mini opened up, so that we could actually see the images from this set.

We went off to convention and received the set in our goodie bag at convention, made a couple of make-n-takes with it and was like, okay, might have potential but not overly thrilled just yet.  And as typically happens, it comes alive the more you see it, the more ideas or color schemes, different uses or layouts, etc.  Sometimes you just fall in love (like French Foliage yesterday) and sometimes you need time to let that love develop.

Well, sit back, grab a coffee or tea (or diet coke... oh can you believe I am already almost 8 months Diet Coke free! who really thought I could be stopped?) or water .... and enjoy the view!

Well I don't know about you but I love that this set can be so versatile and it functions so well as simple and monochromatic - look at the crisp clear image of the paisleys in the print; and it roughs up nicely with a bit of rock-n-rolling to get a soft multi color image mixed with distressing - just gorgeous; and the images are perfect for fitting in punches or easy enough to hand trim out!  I just can't pick a favorite card!

But now I am saying "Oh PLEASE, Paisley Prints" ... and yep, I am a fan and it's a must have set!

French Foliage, fan favorite!

Hi!

Right from the start I knew that I loved this set!  So many pieces to play with and I love the crisp sensation of the images, the leaves look real to me!  Being raised in Michigan for 22 years, the season that I miss the most is FALL with the cool temperatures and the turning colors of the leaves, them falling from the trees, raking them into leaf piles that you could jump into and then burning them (in the old days, not sure if you can still do that now) ... so now that I have lived in Arizona as long (or longer actually but I don't want to give my age away!! ha) we don't really get to enjoy the 'leaf' aspect of a Fall season unless we take a drive up north -- which we have occasionally and it's beautiful too. 

So anyhow enough of me missing Fall, it will be here soon in AZ right?  It is football season afterall, so that must mean that Fall is just around the corner!

You already saw my first creation with this set, it was a few posts back, as my bonus card for the swap that I hosted.  Here are some other fall-tastic ideas that feature this stamp set too!  I'm sure that you will find yourself a fan of this set too, very soon!

Dark & Dreary, gotta have it!

Hello!!

Well the new HOLIDAY Mini Catalog is quickly becoming one of my all time favorite mini catalogs!  There are just so many things that I love that are in this mini!  I tried to control myself with my initial pre-order purchase (fun perk as a demonstrator, we get to order 1 mo early to play before the catalog goes live!) and geeeeesh, now I am totally not happy that I didn't order enough the 1st time!  That'll teach me to have self control... I want it all and I want it now!  It's really okay but in the past month I have been pushed over the want to need for several stamp sets!

Dark & Dreary is one of those!  Featured on page 7 of the Holiday Mini, it kind of looked a little dark at first for me, so I skipped it.  But I have seen a ZILLION (yes, really) things stamped with it and I truly LOVE them all!  Here are a few to tempt your tastebuds too!
