Okay, so today features the last three swap cards from the Sneak Peek Swap that I joined! Perfect timing I'd say as I am supposed to return from SLC today!  And then I should have a whole bunch (at least 53 right!) of new swaps to show you ... more if I would have gotten off the computer and stamped some more before my trip but oh well...  actually the day is still young but I have a ton to do, so I best put packing and what not before any more stamping!

Back to the cards, these all feature the new stamp set called BECAUSE I CARE and it's lovely!

Sneak Peek Day 5

Here we are! We made it to the weekend!  So I am probably exhausted by not sleeping enough, laughing til my face aches and having a grand ole time!  I promise to share all kinds of fun new things with you over the next few weeks and months, as I'm sure there'll be way too much for just one week!

Sneak Peek Day 3

I hope you are enjoying these swap cards and the fact that I decided to pre-write my blog posts instead of start on my packing ... as I sit here wondering how I manage to prioritize sometimes... rest assured that I am in SLC and I am dressed in clean clothes!  So no real problem, right!

Sneak Peek Swaps, day 1

Hello

Over the next few posts I will be sharing pictures of the swap cards that I received when I joined a "sneak peek" swap ... as demonstrators we get fun little perks like being able to see sneak peeks (or previews) before the public as well as the opportunities to purchase certain preview products early too!  All of this is to help give us time to be prepped and ready before the publication (catalog, mini catalog, special promotion, etc) or product goes live to the public!

So here are a few of the cards I received ... details will be "skimpy" as I'm trying to write these fast so they actually get done!!

Starting with my own swap, it features the new stamp set Fast and Fabulous and Occasional Quotes

It's Almost Convention!

Hi there!

I have been stamping some this weekend working on swap cards for an event that I am attending on our "free" night during convention.  It's an organized swap where you sign up and join, so you know exactly how many to make, etc.  So I needed to make 50 to swap with my group mates and one for the hostess of the evening, wonderful Linda Hansen... you may remember her name, she was a guest presenter and speaker at one the large group events that I hosted with my downline Diana.  So I needed 51 and made 54 - so I have 3 extras for 3 gals that are part of my downline (hey Kimberly, Debbie and Dale!!) that are attending the same event but they are in a different swap group than me.

 

This is my swap card, it is the same layout and supplies, just a variety of colors based on the Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper, the new Large Scallop Circle Punch, 1-3/4 Circle Punch, Large Oval and Scallop Oval punches, Scallop Border Punch and the ink colors are Baja Breeze (returning prior in color), Pear Pizazz (new in color), Chocolate Chip, and Pumpkin Pie. I actually used markers to ink the stamp.  Added a little dazzling diamonds glitter to the flower and tah-dah, done!   The stamp set is a brand new one called FRIENDS NEVER FADE and the greeting is from the new L3 Hostess Set called OCCASIONAL QUOTES.  Here's one below up close incase you are interested, click on any photo to make it larger!

 
 
So if today is lucky I am going to try and work on some additional swaps to either swap Wednesday night with my upline Tina's "INKredible Impressions" group or to have for some general swapping -- kind of like the KENO lady in Vegas, she walks around and says Keno Anyone, Keno ... well we walk around saying Swaps, Got Swaps?

In the early years I used to make 100's of cards and the good ol' trading cards (baseball card size) and in my later years I just don't start early enough to do that many!!  But it's so fun to swap with people, you get to see fun, new, fresh, different ideas ... and if you actually look away from the card and up at the person, you get to me new people and make friends too!  It's definitely a social aspect of convention!

I am going to TRY to pre-write out some blog posts before I go, so we'll see how good I do at that!  This way while I am away having fun, you have something fun here at home to see while I'm gone.

So on to the rest of today, Nicole comes home from Cross Country Camp sometime later this afternoon or evening depending on when the bus roles in ... and Rachel starts her summer session of dance classes that are required in order for her to audition for the competition dance teams for next year ... and I need to stamp, pack and finish the last load of laundry and deliver my club orders to my gals!

It's been awhile...

Well it certainly has been while since I last blogged and I apologize to those that check back often looking for something new ... I've just been busy with life and my family.  I honestly didn't realize how long it had been since I had posted an update.

Gee -- I did do a card class in April and May so I guess I have some cards to share with you from those classes!  This picture below is from the MAY stamp class which featured stamp sets from the Summer Mini catalog.

May was crazy busy with both girls having birthdays - milestones at that too - Nicole is now 16 and Rachel became a teenager at 13!  We had a lovely visit from Dave's parents around that time as my mother-in-laws birthday is right in there with the girls' dates too, and yes hers was a milestone but I won't say which as I do treasure being the favorite daughter-in-law (and the only one!).  They are all gor-jus girls in my opinion! 

And June, hmmm... where did June go?  Dance rehearsals and recital for Rachel ... and online summer school and pre-season summer training for Cross Country for Nicole, our 19th Wedding Anniversary and the next thing you know, somehow it's July.  We lost a very dear friend, actually my husbands best friend since 1st grade, college roomate, best man at our wedding, etc...  it's been a very rough couple of weeks as just learned of his illness and then he was gone.  Then we headed to Hotel Del Coronado for a quick family vacation and birthday celebration for me ...  here's my sweetie pie and me! 

Well I hope this gives you a little update on how things are going and what's been keeping me busy.  I guess it's just enjoying life and being in the present with my girls.  They are the true joy of my life and I don't know what we'd do without them!  Although this week was memorable ... Nicole had doctor appointments and sure enough, she is still allergic to 99% of the earth (seriously, over achiever even in the allergy department) and we need to find a new plan of attack to deal with them.  She also had her drivers test this week, and now she has her license and there'll be no more pictures of my hubby and I ... for fear of the gray hairs and baldness that is sure to come!!!

I will be leaving next week for Stampin' Up!s annual convention in SLC -- so when I get back I hope to have some fun new exciting things to share with you!
