Well if you are a regular reader, then you might remember a few days ago I tempted (or is that taunted, hmmm?) myself to possibly do a "sketch challenge" ... remember the day when I was talking about the inspiration journal... well tonight I was stamping and having a hard time pulling together my final layout, so I thought heck Rhonda, just go find a sketch that uses the shapes and pieces I already had stamped, punched, etc!
Well, here is the sketch from Mojo Monday sketch challenges... it's an older one (not for this week)
And here is my card ... sorry the picture quality isnt too crisp, hmm?
I had the flower combo already done, had the background panels already done and even had the horizontal layers pretty much together too - and had punched some "sizzix buttons" earlier this afternoon. So it was a matter of scrolling through their layouts until I came across something that pretty much fit what I already had in front of me. I had to add the RHR layer to scallop the border & the ribbon - and since my new EYELET BORDER punch was sitting here, I used it vs the scallop edge one. It doesnt have a greeting but oh well! Can you tell I was trying to use some Candy Lane DSP without making it Valentine's ... since I have a bunch leftover! It also uses the new Flower Brads (so yummy), the 5-petal punch for the leaves, and the vanilla circle in the center of the polka dot flower (cherry blossom embosslit) is from the SU Birds & Blossom 4pk sizzlits. Kind of a sizzix kind of day!
I have more to share! I think I actually cranked out about 6 cards today! But I'll have to spread them out! They are for my display boards for our Arizona Spring Fling event! Which is on March 7th, so I have a whole lotta stamping to get done! ;-)
I'll be in and out a bit this weekend. We have the end of season volleyball tournamet tomorrow and Rachel also has a dance convention & competition this weekend too. So needless to say, I'll be on the run most of the weekend! So sorry in advance if I dont post anything this weekend! But I will try!
