Hi!

One of the things I love the most about stamping in general is that ANYONE can be SUCCESSFUL at it!  There is inspriation all around us, everywhere we look! 

A couple of the things that I like to do when I am at a Stampin Up corporate event surrounded by plenty of inspriation is to look for NEW WAYS to do things, or new color combinations to try, new folds, new techniques.  Or search for samples from stamp sets that I own but haven't used enough yet. 

So first off today is a color combination that for some reason just made me HAPPY!  I loved this card, it just made me smile!  So "thanks" to whomever was swapping at Leadership and made this card.  It was on the 'clothes line of samples'.  This year instead of velcro'ng samples to huge display boards that require special lighting and fencing off so that the boards don't get bumped, etc as they are huge and could easily hurt someone ... this year SU did it a new way, had clothes lines hung up and you just 'pinned' your card to the line!  Which made it really easy to zoom in and capture a close up of the card (and I did some cropping at home too!). 

And this next picture is a little bit blurry but I earned this stamp set FREE and I wasn't sure it was my style or that I'd ever use it but there were some cute samples... so I may just have to give it a try!  Sorry this picture is a bit blurry but hopefully you can see through it to it's cuteness & fun happy color combo too!

Couple of Favorites from Leadership

Today is all about the pretty stuff ... so here ya go!  I have TOO many pictures to sift through but here are a couple of my favorites from last week!

This picture is from a demonstration on main stage that my wonderful friend Donna Griffith (SU Staff) did using our new, soon to be announced ... SIMPLY SCORED DIAGONAL TOOL ... which I won as a door prize at the Regional event on Saturday!! Hot in my hands before you can get one!  So much fun!  Now we will be scoring in every direction!  You can get yours soon, pre-order for demonstrators is later in Feb (20th i think) and customers can order beginning Mar 1st (i believe).

This card & set of boxes feature products from the Occasions Mini Catalog .. the So Sweet Product Suite and the new Simply Scored Diagonal Tool!

And Donna led the SU Staff team in a new product HAPPY DANCE, here they are on stage 'a shufflin' ...it was so fun and the excitement in the air was Huge!



And this card features a quilted pattern, accomplished by using the postage stamp punch to create a bunch of squares using the new SAB Designer Series Paper, new Hat Pins, new Seam Binding Ribbon, new Buttons ... lots of fun new yummy embellishments!

Best part of Stampin' Up! is ... the friendships!

Well, I was trying to decide what to include in today's blog post and I thought why don't I start with what I love the MOST about being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator! Sure, I joined almost 15 years ago because I was fairly new to stamping and I loved the craft, loved that SU! made it easy by selling most of their stamps in sets which takes out the hard part of figuring out what images coordinate. And of course, I joined because I wanted to save on every single purchase (still love that!) and I no longer needed to run all over town trying to find the ink that coordinated with paper I bought on sale somewhere else ... one stop shopping delivered to my door (important when toting a 3.5 & 0.5 yr old through those stores!).
I still enjoy ALL of this but what really is above and beyond merchandise is that because of being a part of this company I have met so many great friends, some I've known since I joined and I'm always meeting new people along the way.
After having attended a corporate sponsored event, you come home and realize that this company brought this goodness into my life. All the people, the hugs, the laughs until your belly hurts, the tears and true regret when you leave that you know you won't see some of these friends again until the next event. So today I am celebrating by sharing pictures of some of the highlights of my week!

First off, these gals are demonstrators in my INKin' All Night! team. I was happy to have downline to share this event with and for Jill, it was her very first leadership event! And who crazier to room with than one of my dearest downline friends, Diana.  Here they are at lunch one day!


And friends that I have met over the years and enjoy seeing each and every (ah-hem Sylvia) time I run into them at events!  I love her smile and hug ... EVERY single time we cross paths!


And we met up with Becky Roberts & Kim Sinclair, we enjoyed sitting with them during our general sessions.  Kim even visited us in Arizona last month ... lucky for us she has some relatives in AZ!

And each year you get the chance to meet new people too!  Sometimes it people who are with other people you know, sometimes it's people you've chatted with online, or maybe stalked their blog for creative inspiration.  But there's always new people and you just come home with more & more stamping friends!  Here is Kim & I getting our picture taken with Angie Juda ... it was fun meeting her and getting to know her better.


And this is Natasha ... one of my new BFF's!  We just met and got along very well.  Fun & playful, we pretended we'd been friends for years (years in dog minutes maybe! ha).

And one night we happened to be in the right place at the right time, and got included to join my upline, Tina Rosenkrans for an impromptu dinner gathering!  It was SO DELICIOUS I am not even kidding!  It was nice to get to see some of my sidelines (teammates of the same group) since they are based on the East Coast.  It's always fun to gather as a group.

And there are many more but I am trying to locate those pics... might be on my cell phone instead of my camera or perhaps another memory card.

But at any rate, I think it's a long enough post and I'm going to be back tomorrow with a couple of my favorite swaps or ideas that were shared!  So see you then!

Button Buddies Stamp Class

Hi!

It was a great but rather busy weekend and I had an awesome day today on Monday too!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend as well.  On Saturday I took a Camera Class on "Night Time Photography" and then on Sunday Rachel and I went to a hands-on field trip with the Camera Class Instructors for 3 hours in the field taking pictures and getting to ask for help, questions, learning and putting into action what you hear about in class ... it was a great 3+ hours and wonderful together time with my daughter!  On Sunday I also taught my 3rd Christmas Card Class in my Stamp-a-Stack series for this fall.  So watch for those cards to come later in the week, as I still have to take  pictures, edit and upload them before I can blog the class.

And tonight was my monthly team meeting with the demonstrators in my team.  Once a quarter we do a Shoe Box Swap instead of a traditional business meeting, dinner before is optional but lots come early to eat and socialize, and then we stay and stamp our cards.  It's always a fun meeting and I will have those cards to share with you too!

So for tonight, I am going to share with you my card samples from a class I had last month, featuring the stamp set called BUTTON BUDDIES!  It's a cute little awesome set!  And with our designer buttons, it's just tooooo darn cute not to have it!  If you're resisting getting it, what are you waiting for?

At class each attendee received their very own stamp set and got to make the 4 projects for FREE!



An adorable (if I do say so myself!) clip on tag to add to any treat bag (mine were from the M store).  The two tags die, scallop circle punch, polka dot embossing folder, black scalloped polka dot ribbon, pumpkin pie 1/8" taffeta ribbon, Neutrals and Brights buttons, 1-1/4" & 1=3/8" cirlce punches, decorative label punch, and the four frames stamp set, grateful greetings stamp set, and of course button buddies stamp set... and a little clothespin to top it all of!  This was probably my favorite project ... I'm always inspired by Michelle Wooderson and her cute little tag toppers and the way she just uses a ton of pieces ... so here's my version of her style in a SU! fashion!

This cutie is made using the new Petite Pocket XL Die with the Early Espresso DSP from the neutral pack for the envelope and then Real Red, Whisper White, and Old Olive for the other pieces. The belly band is a strip of the large scallop border from the Tasteful Trim die, with polka dotted scallop trim ribbon and 1/8" real red taffeta ribbon and then the Cherry part is attached with dimensionals to the belly band.  1-3/4" Circle punch, 2" circle from the Circles #2 die, and the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle punch.  The pull out card uses the small oblong-y oval punch, itty bitty flower punch, and a rhinestone jewel.  These envelopes are cute because they also fit gift cards!!

And I also CASEd a couple of projects that I found online or in Stampin Connection (an online gallery for demonstrators with literally thousands of projects).  I hope you enjoy these too!

Again features the Perfectly Pennant die, and the Bights print patterns DSP pack, and polka dotted scalloped ribbons!



This one was just adorable and so easy to do because of the amazing Big Shot Machine!  The large Scallop Circle Die, large Snowflake die, polka dot embossing folder, scallop circle punch and circle #2 die.  I used Serene Snowflakes stamp set along with Button Buddies.  A bit of 1/8" real red taffeta ribbon to top off the folded edge of the card and sliced and tuck in to make the scarf too!

Okay, well it really is Monday here in AZ but it's getting late, and I'm going to end now in order to get my post in on my monday anyhow!  So for me it counts!! ;-)

Just get started!

Hi

Well yesterday was a success!  We walked and then went out to breakfast as a birthday treat and then I stopped over for a mere 5 hours helping out my buddy and that was her birthday present!  I kept trying to think of what to get Debbie and I just thought, what she wants and needs is someone to come do this with her, so that's what I decided to do!  Nope, I did not wrap myself up, unless you count a baseball cap as wrapping paper!!

Ever feel like you just can't get started?  Well that's where she was in her pull, sort, stash, trash, and reorganize phase of redoing her craft room and that's where I've been stuck in my lack of physical exercise program (too defeated to begin) ... so it's been a great week of helping each other!  Love you Debbie!  Thanks for dragging me out of my house and walking with me every day this week!  It hurts but it does feel good to be able to say I did it.  So looking forward to my day off tomorrow though, haaha!!!

So, whatever you are waiting to get jump started on - call a friend and do it together!  It works!

And another good friend of mine is helping out today on my blog!  Thanks ELIZABETH for swapping todays card share at my last team meeting!  Its so fun, fresh and colorful!  Love it!  And she loves it because she got to use her new sewing machine!  Well kind of new, she'd had it for about 8-9 months but just needed to pull it out of its box and tah-dah ... looky at those pretty stitch lines!  Awesome!

Well, I am going to keep this short as I need to get going on cutting and prepping the other half of my cards for this weekends class!

Just a quick post today as I am going to lend out my services to one of my best friends, Debbie, to help her organize her stamp room on her birthday!  We walked today (day 4) and then went to breakfast and I told her that her present was my 'help' in her stamp room.  So I am headed over to see what we can get done today!

Lots of things used here ... I will have to come back to try and list them all.  But for now, enjoy the card & I'll try to get back to edit this later with the supplies.

Christmas Stamp-a-Stack Class #1

Hi again!

Today I want to share with you the cards from my first Christmas card class that was held in September.  A lot of the ideas were inspired by cards found in our Stampin Connection area of our SU! demonstrator webiste or from fellow demonstrators.

This card features the stamp set called Greeting Card Kids, stamped with StazOn Jet Black ink on Glossy Paper, then a wash with blue ink to tint the background and then the focal image was colored in.  A piece of Pear Pizzazz Poly Twill Ribbon and the Petals a Plenty Impressions Embossing Folder along with a punched greeting finish things off. 

This is one that I created and it features the Merry & Type stamp set colored in with markers and stamped on white, then put that into the new Impressions Embossing Folder Frames, and then trimmed out, add a bold bright button with a bit of Bakers Twine and it's a great focal image.  The designer series paper is the Letters To Santa, and the ribbon is the Early Espresso Quilted Ribbon and the 1/8" Marina Mist taffeta ribbon.  Much prettier in real life!!

This card is probably one of my favorites from the class.  I just love the simple and clean look of it!  The white layer is embossed with the Northern Flurry Impressions Folder and the stamping images are from the Contempo Christmas stamp set with Always Artichoke & Cherry Cobbler.  Finished off with the Cherry Cobbler Quilted ribbon.  LOVE IT!!

This card uses one of my favorite stamp sets, SNOW MUCH FUN!  Just love the little snowmen!  The paper is from Letters to Santa, which is where I pulled my colors from.  The background is the new Snowflake Impressions Embossing Folder from the Holiday Mini catalog sponged with crumb cake ink.  Punches include the modern label punch, 1-3/4" circle punch, Circles #2 sizzix die, and 2-3/8" scallop circle punch.  Card was CASEd from Robin Merriman, modified just slightly to a full size card layout.
